WAZIRI Mkuu wa zamani ambaye pia ni mbunge wa Monduli (CCM), Edward Lowasa, amekutanana wahariri wa vyombo vya habari nyumbani kwake mjini dodoma leo Jumatatu Mei 25, 2015, na kusema, Jumamosi Mei 31, kule mkoni Arusha ndiko ataweka wazi maono yake kuhusu uongozi wa nchi.
Mkutano huo uliohudhuriwa na wahariri kutoka karibu vyombo vyote vya habari hapa nchini, ulilenga kuwapatia fursa wahariri kuuliza maswali mbalimbali yaliyokuwa yakiulizwa “uchochoroni” bila kupatiwa majibu sahihi.

Mathalan moja ya masawli na minong’ono iliyokuwa imezagaa sana nchini, ni kuhusu afya ya kiongozi huyo. Naye katika majibu yake Lowasa alijibu, “kumekuwepo na tabia ya watu kuombeana mabaya na mojawapo ni kuzushiana magonjwa napendekeza kuwa wakati umefika kwa Chama Cha Mapinuzi (CCM) kupima afya za wagombea wake wa urais ili kujua ukweli nani mgonjwa.” Alisema Lowasa na kuwahakikishia Wahariri kuwa yeye yuko “fiti” na tayari kwa chochote katika mchakato wa kuwaletea maendeleo wananchi wa Tanzania

Tanzania Postal Bank is hosting the 21st World Savings Bank Institute Meeting (WSBI), to be held from the 27th- 28th May 2015. The meeting will be held at the Bank of Tanzania Hall in Dar es Salaam. TPB is very proud to be given a chance to host the meeting, which will have more than 100 participants from 26 member banks in attendance. The members come from African countries, as well as Asia, Europe and America. The guest of honor is the Prime Minister, Hon. Mizengo Peter Pinda.
The aim of this meeting is to enable banks from member countries to sit down and discuss important issues and to tackle various challenges facing the members. Tanzania Postal Bank CEO Sabasaba Moshingi said “The 21s Africa Regional Group meeting  will be a great opportunity for WSBI African member banks to take stock of their activities since the last meeting which was held in Cote d Ivoire, and discuss with practitioners the latest technological and financial trends that are influencing the savings and retail banking sector in the region. The theme of the meeting is “The next Frontier in Accessing Financial Services”. He again explained thatthere is an accrual role of digitalization and other innovative technologies in driving and reshaping the service offer of savings and retail banks in Africa. Some members have adapted successfully to the changes and provide diversified payment products ranging from Mobile payment, Biometric smartcards and point of sale terminals. These products enable banks to improve the transaction processing speed and provide accurate and real time account statements. However, the majority are still facing challenges in becoming a central market player in their respective environment. Such challenges include: institutional form adapted to the market, profitability or sustainability, high cost of innovation tools, weak capitalization, high cost of borrowing and lack of adequate human capital just to mention a few”.
Tanzania Postal Bank is among the fastest growing banks in the region, which caters for the ordinary Tanzanian, with a major focus on being a bank that provides affordable, accessible and convenient financial services.

At the end of this week it was the turn of Acacia Dar office employees, where 46 employees were awarded for a long service at a colorful event  held on Friday evening at the company's main office along Bagamoyo road. Long servicing employees is the company's Buzwagi, North Mara and Bulyanhulu gold mine sites have also been rewarded since last month.
Those recognized on Friday were the staff who worked for 5, 10 and 15 years, since the company commenced it's operation in Tanzania. The awards were meant to show the company's appreciation for the workers commitment and loyalty that's reflected by their long years of service.
